| The Goal: US $7,295.00 | Current Donations: US $50.00 |
The next purchase for The DCL is going to be a ATIZ BookDrive DIY. With this document camera and processing software, I will be able to post books at a much higher through put than I have been. Below is a table to show the amount of time that would be saved on each book.
| OpticBook 3600 | BookDrive DIY |
| 100 pages an hour on average. | 1000-1800 pages an hour. |
| 500 page book = 5 hours of scanning time. Plus a couple of hours clean up time for the scans. |
500 page book = about 20 minutes. Automated clean up for the scans. |

The added benefit is that the digital cameras are gentler on books than a scanner is. Even with my OpticBook 3600, I have to handle a book a lot to scan it. That means that a lot of old and fragile books are out of the question to scan. With the BookDrive, the book sits in the cradle and only the pages are turned.
The DCL has been the first website to post many books that have not been seen in electronic format before. It was the first to post a complete 1560 Geneva Bible facsimile, the English Revised Version, the Sawyer New Testament, etc. I have also kept the website running for almost five years now. In a world where web sites come and go over night, five years is almost an eternity.
Has The DCL helped you out in anyway? If so, I would ask that you consider making a donation. If everyone chips in five dollars, it will go a long way.
If you have a Paypal account, you may use it to make a donation. Just click the button below.
I also have an Amazon wishlist. Chamberlin's English Bible Catalog is on there if I have any people with some extra pocket change. This books is a fairly comprehensive listing of published English Bibles. It would be really useful for hunting down some obscure translations.
If I have any extremely wealthy patrons of literature and Christian learning that frequent my site... Send me a message if you have a place you are looking to give to.
Most importantly, if you use The DCL, could you please pray for its future.
